Call for Submissions

[your girl is creating a prison teaching anthology]

I’ve long envisioned editing and compiling an anthology/textbook for Transformative Arts in Incarcerated settings and juvenile hall. I’m currently soliciting submissions from teaching artists of all disciplines for favorite prompts/lessons/readings working in California.

Here’s what I am looking for:

1) Great prompts and lessons from teachers with examples from students who successfully completed the assignment. I realize for things like dance/theater this will be photographs or links to video [the digital version will have links].

2) Short essays from teaching artists on the experience of teaching this assignment.

3) Short essays from executive directors or staff of non-profits on why the work is so important.

Shoot for under 1000 words.
